“Selected Works” is a collection of writings by Kastuś Jezavitaŭ, a prominent figure of the Belarusian Democratic Republic and one of the key organizers of Belarusian political and cultural life in the first half of the 20th century.
The volume opens the new “BNR Heritage” series published by the Belarusian Institute of Arts and Sciences in New York. Alongside a biographical study of Jezavitaŭ’s life and work, the book brings together his most important texts, memoirs, research articles, essays, poetry, correspondence, and other materials.
Kastuś Jezavitaŭ was a member of the Council of the Belarusian Democratic Republic, the creator of its diplomatic missions abroad, an organizer of Belarusian community life in Latvia, a publisher, and a publicist. Several documents included in this edition are published for the first time, making the collection an important source for understanding Belarusian history and state-building.
