In the novella "What Now, Mr Wolf?", two storylines intertwine. The first tells the story of Rina, a middle-aged alcoholic who spent a long time living abroad, where she cared for an elderly man. The second plot is the story of Darška, Ryna's grandmother. Her grandmother's death forces Ryna to return to a God-forsaken Belarusian backwoods. The events of the novella take place in the Luban region. Ryna must bury her grandmother, unearth a lover, and restore the springs.
